How to Read a Supplement Label
Serving size comes first
Amounts on a Supplement Facts panel are generally tied to the stated serving, which may involve more than one capsule. Read the directions and serving size together instead of assuming one capsule equals one serving.
Ingredient names are only the beginning
Check the amount, ingredient form, and extract details where shown. A plant name alone does not establish that two products contain equivalent preparations or match a study.
Understand blend limits
A proprietary blend may give a total blend weight without individual amounts. That makes comparison with ingredient research difficult. Ask for clarification and do not infer hidden quantities.
Read the whole label
Other ingredients, allergens, warnings, and storage instructions can matter as much as the headline blend. Take the full label to a pharmacist when asking about interactions.
